DC Samba tours flood prone areas

*Inaugurates Emergency Operation Centre

SAMBA, July 10: District administration Samba today setup an Emergency Operation Centre to cope up with any exigency arising due to heavy rain and flash food.
DC Samba Sushma Chauhan   inaugurated the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) at   DC office complex with team of officials deployed round the clock for responding to distress situation in any part of the district.
Deputy Commissioner said that Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) will work 24*7 to respond to any emergency situation, function as a centre for decision making and to keep constant touch with affected areas in order to provide organised relief and rescue. The Centre will also coordinate the flow of information with respect to activities associated with relief operations. The people can get all type of weather related information from the Emergency Operation Centre, she added.
Joint teams of Government departments Army, BSF, SDRF, NGOs etc have been constituted for quick response in case of any eventuality.   An advance evacuation and rescue plan has also been formulated for launching rescue and relief operation in the event of any calamity.
Meanwhile, the DC along with a team of officers conducted extensive tour of Ramgarh to take stock of situation in flood prone areas. The team visited   Sujwan, Kolpur and Kamore- the villages which were badly affected during 2014 floods.
She directed officers to stay alert for meeting any eventuality. She also directed rescue teams to be ready for quick response.
The DC was accompanied by SSP Samba Anil Magotra, ADDC Pankaj Magotra, ADC, ACR, Executive Engineers of Flood Control and Irrigation, PWD, PHE, PDD besides other district officers.
