SAMBA, Oct 10: Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today visited general bus stand, Samba to assess the general activities, movement of buses and other commercial vehicles besides reviewing functioning of SRTC booking office.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Samba, Ajay Sangra, Tehsildar Avtar Jasrotia, Deputy Superintended of Police (HQ) Tilak Raj Bhardwaj besides other officers besides other concerned officers concerned officers accompanied the DC.
Deputy Commissioner along with the officers’ team inspected the SRTC booking office, market establishments around the bus stand, movement of bus traffic besides taking appraisal of cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
DC ordered seizure of documents of some of the buses and issuance of challans against the offenders for violating certain rules and regulations applicable in the bus stand.
He directed the Assistant Road Transport Officer, Samba for regular checking of movement of buses around the new bus stand.
Deputy Commissioner asked the Executive Officer Samba Municipal Committee for removal of all illegal Rehris and encroachment around bus stand to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. He also laid emphasis on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in bus stand premises.
Deputy Commissioner assured that the commercial vehicles plying in the district shall be made to stop at designated bus stops only and steps in this regard shall be taken up accordingly.
