SAMBA, Oct 10: Four gamblers along with stake money of Rs 1500 were arrested today by Vijaypur police.
“Acting on specific information about gambling, a police party of police station Vijaypur headed by SHO police station Vijaypur, Inspector Chaman Ghorkha under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Dr Karan Taneja raided the gambling spot at Garota Mandi, Vijaypur in the premises of PHE water supply reservoir and arrested four gamblers along with stake money of Rs 1500 and playing Cards,” a police official said.
He said that the gamblers have been identified as Shiv Deep Singh alias Makhnu son of Satpal Singh, Sanjeev Singh alias Kali son of Surat Singh, Rajan Singh alias Bittu son of Madho Singh and Daljeet Singh alias Garner son of Anoop Singh, all residents of Garota Mandi, Vijaypur.
“In this regard, a case FIR Number 155/2019 under Section 3/9 Public Gambling Act has been registered at police station Vijaypur and further investigation started,” the official added.
