UDHAMPUR, June 9: District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar today reviewed the arrangements for Sudh Mahadev Mela, here at a meeting of line departments.
The three day historic Mela is commencing from June 27.
Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements including security, first aid facilities, supply of drinking water, electricity, installation of departmental stalls, transport facility, blacktopping of roads etc. for the smooth celebration of the Mela.
The DC directed the departments to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are put in place well in advance the commencement of the Mela.
It was decided to establish departmental stalls for generating awareness among the people regarding the various Government schemes. Tehsildar Chenani was appointed as the Mela Officer.
ARTO, Udhampur was directed to arrange adequate number of buses for the visitors. He was also asked to keep a check on overcharging of fare during the Mela.
PHE and PDD functionaries were asked to be ready with a plan to provide adequate power and water supply, while Ex-En PWD was directed to ensure necessary repairs of road for the smooth flow of traffic.
The DDC directed the Chief Medical Officer to deploy a team of doctors for providing first aid facilities.
It was decided in the meeting that Assistant Director, CAPD along with the Food Safety officer shall notify a fair rate list and keep check on the quality of all the essential commodities
Also present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal ACR, Subhash Dogra, SDM Chenani Davinder Sharma, ASP Faisal Qureshi, Chief Education Officer, J.R Bhardwaj, Chief Executive Officer Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, and other district and Tehsil level officers of different departments besides prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
