DC reviews progress on land demarcation

JAMMU, Sept 30: Deputy Commissioner Sushma Chauhan today reviewed the progress on demarcation of State land and establishment of land bank in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Tahir Firdous, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Nazol besides Tehsildars, representatives from Jammu Development Authority and other concerned officers.
The concerned officers apprised the DC about the status of demarcation and land retrieved so far in the district. The meeting was informed that 49174 kanal State land has been demarcated in 76 villages of the district.
The DC asked the concerned to set targets and expedite the process of demarcation of remaining land. She further impressed upon the Revenue officials to make frequent visits to their respective areas to keep check on encroachment and ensure eviction of all illegally usurped state land.
While taking review of preparation of Jamabandis, the DC directed the Revenue officers to expedite the process for timely completion of this vital task.
