DC reviews progress of RDSS, stresses timely execution of projects

KUPWARA, Sept 9: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in the district.

At the outset, DC was briefed about the objectives and progress of the scheme by Project implementation Agency NTPC.

The meeting discussed various ongoing works under the scheme, including system strengthening, augmentation of existing power infrastructure, installation of smart meters, feeder segregation, and improving power supply networks.

DC stressed the officers to ensure timely execution of projects and strict adherence to quality standards, adding that successful implementation of RDSS will directly benefit the people of Kupwara district by providing uninterrupted and reliable electricity.

He directed the concerned engineers and executing agencies to maintain close coordination and regularly monitor field-level progress.

RDSS is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at improving the quality, reliability and affordability of power supply to consumers. The scheme focuses on strengthening power infrastructure, reducing Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses, and enhancing operational efficiency of the distribution sector, thereby ensuring financial sustainability.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kupwara, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, representatives of different executing agencies and other concerned officers.
