KISHTWAR, June 11: District Development Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana convened a meeting to review the arrangements for upcoming annual Machail Mata Yatra, here today.
The DDC undertook detailed discussion with regard to arrangements to be made by different departments to ensure smooth conduct of yatra being organized from July 25 to September 5, 2019.
The DDC impressed upon the concerned departments to ensure availability of potable drinking water, electricity, fire wood, telecommunication services, mobile banking facilities and other essential commodities during the yatra.
DDC directed SDM Paddar to ensure sanitation and cleanliness is maintained along the route from Gulabgarh to Machail besides ensuring strict implementation of ban on use of polythene. He also directed to install dustbins at specific places enroute Kundail to Machail besides suitable places at Gulabgarh.
Further instructions were passed that all shopkeepers must install dustbins in front of their shops and use bio-degradable bags instead of polythene bags.
It was decided in the meeting that PAS system shall be installed at specific places for wide awareness among the yatries regarding cleanliness besides making pilgrims aware on other do’s and dont’s during the yatra, and other essential information. Besides, it was decided that hoardings will be installed for the purpose.
PHE department was directed to install 2 water tankers at Gulabgarh Paddar for the yatries till culmination of Yatra.
DDC also directed police department to intensify security cover, besides asked SDM Paddar to install CCTV cameras at specific places in Gulabgarh to keep close vigil and to maintain strict implementation of law and order.
Officers present in the meeting included Sub -Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Paddar, Varunjeet Charak, XEN PMGSY, XEN PDD, BDO Paddar, Tehsildar Machail, AD Handloom, SHO Atholi, AEE PWD, Sanitary Inspector MC Kishtwar besides others participated in the meeting.
