JAMMU, June 8: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu convened a meeting of PDD, PHE, PWD and Fire Services to review the arrangements being made for providing adequate supply to consumers in view of heavy overload and other system constraints.
Stressing on dire need of creating awareness among general masses regarding judicious use of electricity and water, Sahu said that consumers have to be educated on overloading and unexpected trip in electricity and water, supply. He said that unscheduled power cut and erratic water supply is mainly due to misuse and power pilferage which needs to be checked. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration in checking power pilferage and ensure judicious utilization of water and electricity.
Regarding fire services, the DC asked the concerned officers to remain vigilant and geared up on a call so as to minimize losses during any fire incident. He asked the hoteliers and people to strictly adhere to fire safety norms to thwart such mishap which cause immense loss to life and property.
On the occasion, Sahu addressed major problems put forth by the concerned officers so as to provide regular power, water supply and evade fire occurrence. He enquired about the arrangements made to meet heavy load during peak hours and other constraints they face while delivering essential services.
