DC Rajouri decides 113 Anganwari cases in Lok Adalat

RAJOURI: District Administration, Rajouri today convened one-day Lok Adalat and decided over one hundred cases related to selection of Anganwari Workers, Helpers and service related matters.

A total of 113 cases pending for the last 8-10 years were taken up and decided by a team of officers.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary chaired the proceedings of Lok Adalat which was attended by Programme Officer ICDS Mohammad Rashid, ACR A Q Mir, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, DIO Mohammad Shafait, SDMs Kartar Singh, Khalid Hussain, Gopal Singh, Afzal Mirza, Tehsildars, CDPO, Naib Tehsildars, Advocates, petitioners and respondents apart from concerned Halqa Patwaris and officials of various related departments.

The Lok Adalat for disposal of Anganwari cases considered 81 cases related to selection of workers pending in various courts and offices for last 8-10 years waiting for adjudication and decision. Apart from these, 32 cases related to functioning of centres, location and management were taken up and decided.

DC Dr. Shahid reprimanded the concerned officials for prolonged delay in deciding the cases and emphasized that for avoiding delay the State Govt has laid down mandatory guidelines that first appellate authority in all such cases is Deputy Commissioner and second appellate authority is Divisional Commissioner, with decision of later being final.

The cases decided include 23 of Tehsil Rajouri, 10 of Sunderbani, 5 of Manjakote, 20 of Budhal, 8 of Kalakote, 5 of Nowshera and 10 of Thanamandi.

Meanwhile SDMs, Tehsildars and CDPOs have been directed to closely monitor the functioning of Anganwadi centres and provision for ration and   educational aids in. He directed the officers to terminate the services of Anganwadi workers and helpers if the centres are found closed during inspections.

Meanwhile, the PO ICDS was asked to establish a dedicated cell for redressing the grievances of Angawadi workers, helpers and also all service related issues. Department has been asked to follow the established procedure for adjudication of all such cases at the level of notified appellate authorities henceforth.
