DC orders probe, Medical Board conducts autopsy

RAJOURI, Sept 13: The Deputy Commissioner ordered probe and directed the district police to exhume the dead body of  a woman who was allegedly done to death by the members of  in-laws’ family and then buried hurriedly in Budhal area of district Rajouri a few days back.
Action was taken by the District administration and  Budhal police after parents of  the woman (victim), Ruksana Kouser (23), lodged a complained that their daughter Ruksana was beaten to death by in-laws and then her body was buried hurriedly without informing relatives. They alleged that neighbours informed about foul play and also alleged that she was tortured and many people heard her screams on the August 30, 2013.
Abdul Qayoom, father of  Ruksana Kouser, resident of  Samote village  alleged that his daughter was allegedly done to death by husband Abdul Shakoor and other members and then buried in the nearby graveyard. He lodged a complaint with SHO Budhal, Rakesh Kumar, demanding that body be exhumed and postmortem be conducted through medical board and murder case be registered against the accused. District Police took up the matter with the District Magistrate Rajouri, F C Bhagat, who issued orders today in this regard, The local police exhumed the body in presence of  relatives and Tehsildar  concerned.
A  Medical Board from district hospital Rajouri conducted postmortem at Budhal and later the relatives disposed off the body of young woman. The police has launched inquest proceedings in this regard. No arrest has been reported till this evening in this connection.
