KUPWARA, May 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today reviewed the functioning of the Education Sector in a meeting.
During the meeting, the DC meticulously reviewed the timeline of teachers training and other related issues of the department.
The meeting was attended by CPO Kupwara, Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Principal DIET Kupwara, Dy.CEO, ZEOs, Zimmadari core team, Parimal foundation Kupwara and Pratham Education Foundation.
Ayushi laid emphasis on strengthening the Education indicators which would ultimately help in improving the overall Education scenario of the district
The DC directed the concerned to identify at least 200 schools from the district for special interventions under Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN).
She meticulously assessed the gaps in learning level of students of 3rd to 5th classes of the government schools of the district.
On the occasion, the DC emphasized that the early years (0 to 8 years) are the most significant period of growth and development in the life of a child. It is during this period that foundations for the holistic development of the child and the child’s future learning are set up.
She further said that strong foundations in the early years have a lasting impact on children’s development.
