KATHUA, Jan 21:- Taking cognizance of the news item published in the newspapers regarding incident of delivery by a women namely Jameela Begum in the gallery of district hospital Kathua on January 19 alleging negligence and irresponsible attitude on part of official on duty, DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar initiated an immediate enquiry in the matter and appointed ADC Kathua Dr Manmohan Singh as Enquiry Officer.
DC Kathua disclosed that the preliminary enquiry report was submitted today and found that the woman namely Jameela W/o Manzoor of Gurah Pandtian (Dhani Bakhta) felt pain at about 5 am on January 19 and family contacted local ASHA worker Santosh Devi who accompanied her to nearby PHC Dhanni Bakhta along with mother in law Naseem. PHC Dhani Bakhta referred the case to District Hospital Kathua and provided ambulance to the patient Jameela who alongwith the ASHA worker reached district hospital in the ambulance.
As soon as ambulance reached the district hospital premises, Jameela delivered a baby girl while getting down from the ambulance.
The Enquiry Officer after taking statement of the patient Jameela, her mother in law Naseem and ASHA worker Santosh Devi found that delivery of the baby girl was held while shifting the Jameela from ambulance to Labour room. The preliminary enquiry revealed that post natal treatment to the child and mother was given timely and also found that both child and mother are healthy and normal.
DC Kathua informed today that preliminary enquiry revealed that the allegations labelled are not correct. Meanwhile, CMO Kathua charge sheeted Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kathua on the issue and further action shall be taken on the outcome of detailed enquiry.
