Jammu, Feb 21 : District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, today distributed 400 Kissan Credit Cards to the beneficiaries of Panchayat Ghaink in Bhalwal Block on the occasion an awareness camp organized by the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development.
A large number of people were given information about the various Centrally and State sponsored schemes, which can be put to in this kandi belt making optimum use of the available resources. Pamphlet and Booklets generating awareness were also distributed and tools were put to display for the general public as well.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Verma lauded the role of Department of Agriculture for issued Kissan Credit Card in such a short time and going for a people friendly approach. He also expressed his satisfaction in the development activities under taken in the area especially under MGNREGA by Rural Development Department especially conservation of Water Bodies and land development which has a visible environmental impact.
He stressed on the role of Panchayats in implementation of schemes and directed the Officers of 14 line department present on the occasion to actively involve Panchayat representatives in planning and implementation of all schemes so that the essence of Panchayati Raj could be achieved. He categorically explained the directions of Government in this regard and any laxity in this regard shall invite departmental action.
