KISHTWAR, Dec 17: Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana today inaugurated classes of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyala (JNV) at Shalimar building here.
Among others present on the occasion were ACD Kishtwar, Anil Kumar Chandail, Principal JNV Kishtwar, Roshan Lal, Principal JNV Doda, Ravinder Kumar and other concerned officers besides staff members and students of JNV.
Speaking on the occasion, DC termed it a great day for district for getting one of the most prestigious and pioneer educational institute of the Nation i.e JNV.
He further said that earlier priority was on accessibility of education but as of now the priority has switched towards providing quality and standard education especially in villages.
He asked the students to study with heart and soul to strive for nation building as high classed teaching staff and state of the arts infrastructure is available in this institute.
He expressed hope that future generations of the district will definitely be benefited by this renowned institute.
Principal JNV Kishtwar said that the faculty of JNV Kishtwar will leave no stone unturned to make JNV Kishtwar as topmost institute of the district. He said that the present scenario of education is transcending through a positive change.
Principal JNV Doda said that the students who have passed from JNV Doda have proved their mettle by achieving enormous success in competitive exams like IAS, KAS, NEET, IIT, NDA and AIIMS every year.
He further added that in the coming days this school will become centre of excellence and hub of education. He further said JNV provides 75 per cent reservation to rural students and 25 per cent to urban in admission.
On the occasion, students of JNV presented an impressive programme including dance items, songs and yoga items.
Later, DC Kishtwar inspected the class rooms, hostel rooms, mess, library, class labs and provision of boarding and lodging besides heating facilities of the students.
