REASI, Dec 17: In yet another incident within a fortnight, a 4- year child was mauled to death by leopard at village Jamlan in Mahore, this evening thus triggering panic in the area.
Reports said that Waseem, son of Noorani of Jamlan was mauled and taken away by a leopard around 6 pm when the child was playing in backyard of the house. Family members and the locals were searching for the boy till last reports came in.
A similar incident had happened on December 7 when an 8-year old girl was attacked and taken away by leopard at Kansooli village in Mahore. Later, mutilated body of the girl was recovered from nearby forest area.
In that case, DDC Reasi has also ordered suspension of two officials of Forest Department.
