DC holds meeting with Beopar Mandal for City Development

UDHAMPUR, May 9: District Administration, Udhmapur, convened a meeting with representatives of business establishments and Beopar Mandal for consultations on city development, improvement in civic amenities, creation of facilities and other issues.
Detailed discussions were held on removal of encroachments from roads and footpaths, creation of specific parking slots, relocation of vendors, traffic management, beautification of public places and open spaces, development of infrastructure and improvement in sanitation through general public participation.
DC Udhampur Shahid Choudhary discussed about proposals for revamping city management and suggested improvements for better management of traffic, civic amenities and disciplines establishments across the town to present a better civic face of udhampur. He called for seriousness among general public and all stakeholders for coordinated efforts to free the public spaces from encroachments and regulation of traffic in city.
A number of representatives from Beopar Mandal and business unions presented their suggestions, views and proposals as well as issues and concerns related to departments and improvising the management in city for which they assured to extend wholehearted support. The proposed interventions were discussed on map and desired modifications suggested by beopar mandal.
It was decided in the meeting that a general meeting of Citizens of Udhampur Town will be organised in the City Park to discuss the improvement plans and receive suggestions at a greater level. Committees of representatives will be constituted for various wards, markets and specific areas comprised of local citizens and official members to plan and oversee developmental issues.
Meanwhile, a team of Revenue, Municipal Council and PWD identified 56 encroachments on first day of mapping exercise aimed at decongesting the city.
