DC discusses arrangements for PICs

JAMMU, Nov 5: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu discussed arrangements for Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaigns (PICs) to be organized from 20th to 22th November, 2013 at Akhnoor by Press Information Bureau, Government of India in a meeting here today. This will be the 28th campaign in the State.
The Programme aims to create awareness among the masses in respect of Centrally Sponsored Schemes like Bharat Nirman, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act, National Rural Health Mission, Right to Information Act, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Universal Mid Day Meal Programme, Prime Minister’s new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities, etc.
He also discussed arrangements and preparation for holding two days Employment Fair in district Jammu to be organized in the Ist week of December, 2013 by Deputy Director, Employment Jammu. The venue and exact schedule of fair was also discussed in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held on various vital issues to make the three day event a grand successful.
DC enjoined upon the various departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements would be placed well in time. He also stressed for coordination among the various agencies for the smooth and successful conduct of event.
It was informed in the meeting that various agencies dealing with employment generation schemes and the financial institutions will participate in the fair. Various departments will display their products/ schemes in their respective stalls.
About 30 stalls will be set up by different departments and other agencies to provide information to the unemployed youth regarding various schemes.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer Jammu H. H. Dutt, Media and Communication Officer Press Information Bureau Sunil Koul, Deputy Director Employment Jammu Rita Mahajan, other senior officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
