DC directs Tehsildars for speedy disposal of land cases

JAMMU, Nov 24: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the progress of land acquisition and requisition cases related to the Army.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Nissar Ahmed, Colonel Rohit Gupta, Col RPM Panghal, SDM Khour, Devinder Paul, SDM R.S.Pura, Jagdish Singh, SDM Akhnoor, Gopal Singh, SDM North Jammu, Satish Sharma, SDM South Jammu, Shrikant Suse, SDM Chowki-Chowra, Ravinder Sharma and all Tehsildars of Jammu district were present in the meeting.
A threadbare discussion was held on the land acquisition and requisition cases of the Army during which Tehlsidars concerned apprised the DC about the progress of cases.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildars to complete the demarcation process of land in their respective tehsils. He also directed them to conduct meeting with Army officers to discuss land issues and resolve all the land acquisition and requisition issues.
Meanwhile, the DC also discussed stamp duty rates and asked the Tehsildars to submit reports of enhancement of stamp duty rates along with reasons well in time. He also discussed land compensation cases under Ring Road and Jammu Akhnoor Road project.
He directed the Tehsildars to immediately disburse the compensation amount to the beneficiaries where the final awards have been issued.
Later, he also convened a meeting with zonal magistrates to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of Panchayat election. He passed directions for proper monitoring of elections and asked the concerned for submitting hourly progress reports.
