DC Anantnag tours Kokernag to review supply of essential services

ANANTNAG , Jan 6: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today undertook extensive tour of Kokernag sub division. He was accompanied by SDM Kokernag, Tehsildar Kokernag among other senior officials.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Lisser Power Grid Station and reviewed the power supply in the area. He inspected the 50 MW transformer installed to augment the power capacity of the grid. It is in place to mention that the DC on a previous visit had directed the officials from KPDCL to ensure upgradation of capacity at the station to reduce power outage.
Dr Singla visited SDH Kokernag and inspected several sections of the hospital. He directed the medical staff to remain punctual and reviewed the availability of medicine at the health facility and heating arrangements. He interacted with several patients at the hospital and was apprised about prompt and effective delivery of service. He directed the hospital administration to expedite the process for setting up a blood bank at the hospital and to ensure thay USG facility is available on at least 4 days of the week. The Deputy Commissioner said that Jan Aushadi stores have been established at several places in the district and people should take benefit of affordable and quality assured medicines available at these stores.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the Kokernag Trout Fish Farming Project. He was informed that 20 lakh seedlings will be produced this year and distributed among breeders. He said that Trout has been chosen at the product for Anantnag under ODOP. Several credit facilitation schemes and assitance for marketing and distribution is being provided by the Government.
