DB’s directive in PIL on border people

JAMMU, Sept 20: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by retired IGP turned politician Farooq Khan seeking direction to State for providing adequate medicare, food and lodging to the persons displaced due to recent Pakistan firing, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today granted three weeks time to the counsel for the petitioner for filing response to the status report filed by the State.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Ankesh Chandel for the PIL whereas Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, DB observed that detailed status report has been filed by the State but response has not been filed by the counsel.
