JAMMU, Nov 15: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Alok Aradhe has granted two weeks time for filing compliance report regarding widening of Ambphalla-Janipur road.
When the Public Interest Litigation seeking widening of the Ambphalla-Janipur and Janipur-High Court roads came up for hearing, Senior AAG CM Koul appearing for the State sought time for filing compliance report in terms of earlier order.
The DB conceded the request of the Senior AAG and granted two weeks time.
In the earlier order, Division Bench had observed, “a proposal appears to have been submitted by the PWD to the Planning Department vide communication dated 21.12.2017 and only money has to be released by the Planning and Finance Departments, after the requisite approval”.
“The approval shall be accorded and money released in favour of the Public Works Department so that by the time process of tendering is finalized, shifting of PDD utilities can also be undertaken simultaneously with a view to avoid any further delay in the matter”, the DB had stated in the earlier order.
