DB imposes Rs 5000 cost on Secy Edu

JAMMU, Nov 18: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by social activist-cum-politician Vikram Malhotra seeking introduction of Dogri language as a subject in all the schools, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today imposed cost of Rs 5000 on the Commissioner/Secretary Education for not filing objections.
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the PIL, DB observed, “inspite of granting time to file objections within four weeks as a last chance by order dated October 7, 2016, the objections have not been filed till date”.
DB on the request of AAG granted one week time for filing objections and imposed cost of Rs 5000 on the Commissioner/Secretary Education to be deposited in the Advocates Welfare Fund.
