JAMMU, Aug 21: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Citizen Forum through its President RK Chadha regarding widening of Amphalla -Janipur and Janipur-High Court roads, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Sindhu Sharma has granted time to the State for filing report as per order dated June 4, 2019.
In the order dated June 4, 2019, the Division Bench had observed, “there is enough talent in the higher echelons of the Government and would be expected to take positive action on the subject at the earliest. However, we have been disappointed to know that it has taken the Government six long years and still we see no solution to the ever increasing traffic congestion problems, which people suffer every day”.
“A considerable amount of money has been spent by the Government towards payment to the organization, namely, RITES to prepare a mobility plan. However, there is no decision to even identify the funding sources”, the DB had further observed.
