JAMMU, Aug 2: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Jagdish Chander Gupta highlighting illegal encroachments by the shopkeepers and other unknown persons in the JDA Shopping Complex, Mohalla Old Hospital Road, near City Chowk, Jammu and also in adjoining areas, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to file fresh status report.
When the PIL came up for hearing, Advocate Ajay Sharma appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Municipal Corporation has failed to implement the Action Plan in its letter and spirit.
Accordingly, DB directed the JMC to file a fresh status report to show as to what further action has been taken with a view to remove encroachments in terms of various orders passed by this court.
