DB directs GAD to file ATR on Div Com’s report within a week

JAMMU, Aug 18: In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation filed by Prof  S K Bhalla highlighting alleged hushing up of Chatta Sunjwan land scam, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today directed the General Administration Department to file ATR on the report of the then Divisional Commissioner, Shantmanu.
The then Divisional Commissioner had asked for identification of officials responsible for mutation of 20 kanals and 12 marlas of State land at village Chatta Sunjwan in favour of Ram Kumar, one of the partners of SRK Associates in contravention of rules and to identify the officials responsible for including State land under the lay out plan of residential colony of SRK Associates.
After hearing Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocates Rahul Raina and Suraj Singh appearing for the petitioner and Senior AAG Seema Khajooria Shekhar appearing for GAD, Senior Advocate L K Sharma appearing for SRK Associates and Advocate Rahul Pant appearing for the newly impleaded respondents namely Ch Aslam Din, the then Naib-Tehsildar Bahu, Mohan Singh, the then Additional Patwari Sunjwan-1 and Mohd Iqbal Zargar, the then Patwari Halqa Channi Rama, the DB granted week’s time to the General Administration Department to file Action Taken Report (ATR) in terms of the directions already passed by the Division Bench on May 12, 2015 on the basis of the enquiry report submitted by the then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
