JAMMU, Aug 18: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Sansathan (Non –camp), Welfare Association Laxmipuram Chinore was reconstituted today with J L Bhan as its chairman.
M K Kaw, was elected as president of the organization, Bushan Lal Koul as vice president, while R K Koul and A K Pandita were elected as general secretaries.
Nath Ji Koul was elected as treasurer and Ravi Ji Jogi as publicity secretary. Besides M K Pandita, Ashok Kumar Sopori, Girdhari Lal Pandita, Ravinder Mahaldar and Ashok Kumar Dhar were elected as members.
The newly constituted body expressed grave concern over problems of the area like water scarcity and bad conditions of streets. It demanded immediate renovation of streets and restoration of street lights. The meeting sought immediate intervention of the Commissioner JMC and Chief Engineer PHE to solve the problem.
Meanwhile, residents of the colony have expressed deep concern over the callousness of the authorities towards their demands despite repeated pleas.
