JAMMU, July 22: A 6-year-old girl was killed while her mother was injured today in a road mishap at Jagti (Nagrota) in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a car bearing registration number JK02P-8448 collided with a truck at Jagti area of Nagrota this evening. He said that in the mishap a girl child identified as Tania Sharma (6) daughter of Sham Lal, a resident of Katra and her mother namely Anita Sharma (35), who was travelling in the car, received serious injuries.
“Both the injured were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Tania was declared as brought dead by the doctors while her mother was responding to the treatment”, the spokesman said, adding the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
He said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota and further investigations were underway.
