NEW DELHI, July 16: Chairperson, Central Waqf Development Committee and Bhartiya Janata Party J&K State vice president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi met the Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at Delhi today and sought funds for the development and restoration of Haj House at Srinagar.
During meeting, Dr Andrabi discussed the issue of restoration and development of Srinagar Haj House which was severely damaged by the floods in 2014. She sought Minister’s priority attention towards the issue and requested him to kindly look into all possibilities of helping the State Government financially to undertake the restoration and also the development of the Haj House which caters to the needs of the Hajj pilgrims of whole State.
Dr Andrabi reminded the Minister of the proposal sent by the State Government in this regard and requested him to expedite the action on the proposal. Naqvi assured Dr Darakhshan that he will take adequate action on the proposal and the requisite financial grant will be sanctioned soon and released to the State Government so that the Haj House is restored and developed as per the need.
Dr Andrabi extended gratitude to the Union Minister for his patient hearing and his assurance to help the State Government in this regard.
