REASI, July 16: Landslides caused minor injuries to eight pilgrims and a Pithus besides closure of new track to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine for more than 14 hours, since late last night.
Heavy rains in the area last night caused havoc and triggered landslides, which led to closure of Mahore- Reasi road, Mahore-Budhal road and Mahore-Gool road till this evening.
Reports said that eight pilgrims and a Pithu sustained minor injuries in landslides at Saket Point on the new track to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
The injured were identified as Sardar Din (Pithu), son of Gulam Rasool of Gool, pilgrims .Laxman Singh (33), son of Dev Singh of Jhankat, Khatimoo (UP), Roshan Kumar (24), son of Anurudh Vidia of Goddard, Jharkhand, Rakesh Kumar (26), son of Mohan Lal of Agar Jitto, Katra, Nitin Ram Teke (32), son of Shree Ram of Chandar Pur, Maharashtra, Ranjeet Sharma (21), son of Mohinder Pal Sharma of Nagri Perol, .Kathua,
Sandeep Mehra, son of Mohan Lal of Nagri Perol Kathua, Vishal Sharma (36), son of Kewal Krishan Sharma of Nagri Perol Kathua and Ganga Bishan (28), son of Som Nath of Nagri Perol Kathua.
All the injured were discharged after first aid in the hospital.
The new track was closed after the incident and it was re-opened this evening.
Meanwhile, Mahore- Reasi road, Mahore to Budhal road and Mahore to Gool road, which were also closed following last night landslides, were was also opened by the evening today.
