Dalai Lama visits schools, health centre in Zanskar

ZANSKAR, July 24: After completing two days of teaching sessions, the Dalai Lama today visited Model Public School (MPS) Padum, Mantse Khang Zanskar Health Care Centre (HCC) and Lamdon Model High School (HS) Usti-Pipting.
While interacting with the students at Lamdon Model School, he stressed for boosting of Bodhi language.
During his visit to Mantse Khang Zanskar Health Care Centre, he stressed for ensuring cleanliness in and around the Centre. He also asked the management to work with utmost dedication and deliver their services promptly and honestly.
On the occasion, Muslim Association Zanskar also met Dalai Lama. While emphasising on the practice of love, compassion and tolerance, he said they represent the core values that set the foundation for making the world a peaceful place to live.
Meanwhile, Chairman, Legislative Council, Hajji Anayat Ali along with the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal inspected Hussaini Park Kargil and took stock of the arrangements made by the district administration for forthcoming visit of the Dalai Lama to Kargil.
The duo also visited Chhutuk Hotel to get an appraisal for the arrangements made for boarding and lodging for Dalai Lama.
