JAMMU, Mar5: Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ) today appealed the Government to arrange proper masks and hand sanitizers for the doctors working in Government hospitals of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Coronavirus is spreading worldwide and the doctors treating patients are on high risk of getting infected and if doctors get infected while treating patients they can spread it to other patients,” they said.
Most of the hospitals are not providing such facilities to the doctor community and requested the incumbent government to instruct all hospitals administration to provide proper masks, gloves and hand sanitizers to the doctors and health workers .
DAJ also urged for separate OPDs for flu like illness, so that the spreading corona virus infection can be prevented. “Doctors of J&K will do their best to prevent and treat patients of Coronavirus”, they assured.
The association also appealed to people not to get panic about Coronavirus. It can be prevented if we follows some basic rules such as people should regularly and thoroughly clean their hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Maintain at least 1 metre (three feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing, avoid shaking hands, crowded places and unnecessary travelling.
