Cyber Police recovers over Rs 29 lakh from fraudsters in 10 days

JAMMU, Apr 29: The Cyber Police have successfully recovered a defrauded amount of over Rs 29 lakh from the fraudsters within a period of the past 10 days.
“An amount of Rs 29, 39, 841 (twenty nine lakh thirty-nine thousand eight hundred forty one only) has been recovered from the online fraudsters with effect from April 18 to April 28, 2024,” a police official said.
He said the huge amount was recovered while probing various complaints related to online frauds involving KYC update fraud, investment related frauds, credit card frauds, online job/task frauds and installation of third-party mobile apps, among other frauds.
“The amount so recovered is the result of swiftly initiated investigations into various instances of fraud,” he said.
Pertinently, the Cyber Police Station Jammu team led by DySP Cyber under the close supervision of SP PC Jammu, Incharge Cyber Police Station Jammu, has been displaying relentless efforts by using advanced technologies to make the recoveries in cyber fraud cases.
