Online fraud worked out

Jammu, Sept 16: Cyber Police Station Jammu today received a complaint of bank fraud reported by one Monika Sharma R/o Sunderbani in which the complainant was defrauded with an amount of Rs 50033. She further stated that fraudsters approached her telephonically and fraudulently obtained the important bank credentials including OTP on the pretext of unblocking the blocked ATM card.
Taking instant cognizance into the complaint, team of Cyber Police Station Jammu dealing with financial fraud cases headed by Inspector Manoj Kumar Gupta was activated and transactions were scrutinized to find out outflow route of transactions where money was finally used by the fraudsters. Scrutiny of the transactions revealed that the amount was exhausted by fraudsters for online shopping in Tata Cliq online shopping platform and partial amount in Airtel Money wallet.
The matter was instantly taken up with Tata Cliq and Airtel Money in which money was credited to block all these suspected transactions and to refund the defrauded money to the victim account. The defrauded amount was finally refunded back in the account of the complainant.
Cyber Police Station Jammu saved complainant’s hard earned money with instant action under the guidelines and directions of SP Naresh Singh, Incharge Cyber Police Station and succeeded in refunding the amount of Rs 49999 from Tata Cliq wallet and Rs 34 from the Airtel money. Thus, a total of Rs 50033 has been refunded to the Complainant.
Cyber Police Jammu has appealed general Public to stay alert and vigilant against these online fraudsters.
