JAMMU, July 7: Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) has expressed concern over erratic power supply in Jammu region.
The issue was discussed in a meeting of the association held here today. The association members expressed serious concern over rapidly deteriorating condition of electric transmission and distribution network of Jammu region resulting in erratic power supply to the region.
“While Central Government time to time provides funds for stabilization and renovation of electric transmission and distribution network under RAPDRP there is no positive change on the ground”,  they stated and alleged that when the concerned officers at the helm of affairs are contacted, they show their callousness and inability to set right the things.
“It is astonishing that few drops of rain result in faults and strong breeze (not wind) results in collapsing of poles”, they said, adding there is nobody to supervise the ongoing works under RAPDRP. They hoped that the political leadership and concerned officers at the helm of affairs will rise above the petty considerations and mitigate the problems faced by the consumers in Jammu.
