JAMMU, Aug 2: A deputation of Consumers Welfare Association (CWA) today called on Chief Engineer (CE), Planning and Design, Engineer Som Raj Sharma to discuss the latest position of works being carried on under R-APDRP by M/s IRCON to improve power distribution network in and around Jammu.
Team leader, Sukant Mahapatra, of M/s Louis Berger (Consultant firm) engaged for project management for executing R-APRDP project of PDD was also present. CWA members including Vikram Gour, president, expressed their anguish and anxiety over large scale damage reported due to recent heavy rains and wind storm to freshly erected poles, transformer stations erected on single poles for distribution network and burning of cables in Jammu Urban.
The Chief Engineer informed that the cost of restoration of all damages is the responsibility of IRCON (executing agency) since project is on turnkey basis. “No price escalation will be payable to executing agency”, he added.
