CWA celebrates National Consumers’ Rights Day

Consumer Welfare Association members celebrating Consumers Right Day at Heritage School Jammu on Thursday.
JAMMU, Dec 27: Continuing their ‘National Consumers’ Rights Day’ week-long celebrations, Consumers Welfare Association (CWA) held a Consumer Awareness Programme with students of Heritage School, Sainik Colony, here today.
Q A Akhoon, Minister for CAPD and Transport, was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking stressed upon the need to create awareness among school children who can very effectively carry forward the message and make the general public aware of the consumer protection laws in addition to observing the consumer protection laws themselves. The Minister advised the students to form ‘Consumer Clubs’ in their schools for which the Government will also provide them financial assistance. Meanwhile, the Minister announced a grant of Rs 10,000 for the Consumer Club formed by the Heritage School.
Vikram Gour, president CWA also spoke on the occasion.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Chander Gulati, D P Khajuria and Monaj Kumar of Legal Metrology Department.
