Srinagar, Sept 5: Curf-ew, restrictions and shutdown disrupted normal life in Kashmir for 59th day today during which clashes broke out at many places across Valley in which over 100 protesters were injured.
Police and para-military security forces were patrolling the curfew bound areas and roads were blocked with concertina wires and iron barricades. The shops, business establishments, schools, colleges remained closed and attendance in Government offices was negligible. The traffic was off the roads. However, some private vehicles were plying in parts of Civil Line area.
The train services between Banihal and Baramulla remained disrupted while mobile internet and pre-paid mobile services continue to remain suspended.
In Noorbagh area of Srinagar, a protest rally was held in which people from adjoining areas participated. The protesters marched towards Palpora where a youth drowned in river Jhleum when he was being chased by security forces. Security forces fired pellets and tear gas to disperse the protesters injured around two dozen of them. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Clashes also erupted at Kak Sarai and Kani Kadal areas of Srinagar during which security forces fired tear gas to disperse them.
At Bagh-e-Mehtab in the outskirts of Srinagar scores of protesters including women were injured as security forces foiled a protest rally this morning. Clashes also spread to adjacent Machoo area. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Residents of the locality alleged that security forces broke the windowpanes of several residential houses.
Clashes erupted at Batamaloo area of Srinagar during which security forces fired tear gas to disperse the youth.
A protest rally was organized at Aarath in Central Kashmir district of Budgam in which thousands of people participated but it passed off peacefully.
Around two dozen persons were injured as security forces fired tear smoke and pellets to disperse a rally at Kelum area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district. The injured were shifted to hospital.
At Zangalpora village of Kulgam district, thousands of people participated in the protest rally today. Security forces fired tear smoke and pellets to disperse the protesters. A critically injured was shifted to Srinagar for treatment. Security forces smashed the window panes as they raided several houses.

The residents of Baharbad, Pushwara, Tengpora, Khumina areas of North Kashmir’s Bandipora today held at peaceful protest at Naidkhai.
A protest rally was held at Eidgah, Warpora area of Sopore, which was attended by thousands of people.
Protests erupted in Lolab and Trehgam areas of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Clashes were reported from Lalpora, Krusan Lolab area in Kupwara district during which security forces fired teargas to disperse protesters.
In Trehgam area of Kupwara, clashes erupted between protesters and security forces at Main Chowk during which security forces fired tear smoke to disperse the protesters.
