JAMMU : Curfew was relaxed for the second day today in the Rajouri town while internet services of the state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) were also restored in the town.
“Like yesterday today again the curfew was relaxed since morning and so far the situation has remained peaceful”, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Deepti Uppal told.
She said that the situation was fast returning to normal in the town and the authorities would take the decision to completely lift the curfew as soon the situation becomes fully normal.
“The situation is fast returning to normal there were no clashes or any untoward incident reported after we lifted the curfew from the town today”, Uppal said.
“The internet services of the BSNL have been restored in the town,” she said.
She said that though the curfew remained relaxed for the day it would be reimposed during the night.
Curfew was clamped in the town on Tuesday after some VHP activists allegedly burnt terror outfit IS’s flag, leading to protests by minority groups who said that the flag bore religious scripture.
She said that the religious heads of the two communities have said that they have resolved the issue after holding dialogues with each other. (AGENCIES)
