JAMMU, Oct 2: Samooh Theatre, The Performer and Jay Kay Women Welfare Society jointly honored the veterans from music and journalism fields in a function held at KL Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy here today.
Dr Sudhir Mahajan, noted theatre artist presented spell bound lyrics of Dogri folk in the honor of veterans felicitated on this occasion.
On this occasion, Sangeeta Gupta, Commissioner Income Tax was the chief guest while Anjali Sharma, Director Doordarshan presided over the function. Jatinder Bhatt, State secretary of was the special guest.
The veterans who were felicitated for their significant contributions included Jatinder Kour, Anita Sharma, Yash Pal Yash and Brij Mohan while OP Sharma from the field of journalism.
Earlier, Kamal Sharma, president Samooh Theatre, welcomed the guests and the audience on the behalf of The Performer and Jay Kay Women Welfare Society. He disclosed that Samooh theatre is the one of the pioneer institution of the State that is equally sensitized about all performing art as well as the visual art and literature.
Sangeeta Gupta while complimenting to all the hosting groups said she is really impressed to be the part of this occasion.
