Cultural shows can go long way to educate people: Yudhvir

Jammu, May 13: The Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations today organised a cultural-cum-variety show in the auditorium of Government College for Women Parade, Jammu where Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Winner from Mumbai Prashant Naseri and Indian Idol 2012 from Jammu Ms Indu Bala and daughters of soil and students of Government College for Women Ms Sonali Dogra and Ms Muktashi Sharma mersmrized the students including faculty members with melodious songs like Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh Kumar and Lata Mageshkar.
Senior Bharatiya Janta (BJP) Party leader Yudhvir Sethi was the chief guest, on the occasion.
Director Doordarshan Anjli Sharma and Principal GCW Parade Prof (Dr) Hemla Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sethi said that the artists have presented a wonderful programme for students. He said such type of variety shows not only provide enjoyable moments to the audience but also reduce stress.
He also requested the Information Department to arrange such type of programmes in future also in other parts of the State to educate the people with their rich culture and heritage.
The two-hour long cultural-cum-variety programme was arranged by Vinod Sharma. It was compared by Vijay Atri and musicians accompanist the whole programme included Kamal Sharma on Dholak, Rakesh Anand on Flute, Vipen  Kumar on Octopad, Sunil Sharma on Synthsiser, Shahil Kumar (Lucky) on Tabla player, Darshan Kumar on Guitar.
