SRINAGAR, May 29: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has announced a 10-day summer break for faculty members and students from July 1 to July 10, 2026, while directing that key academic and administrative activities continue uninterrupted during the period.
According to a circular issued by the university’s Academic Affairs wing, the decision has been taken in accordance with the approved Academic Calendar for the 2026-27 session.
The university said the online registration process for odd semesters will continue as per the notified schedule, and regular classwork will commence from July 13, 2026.
Research scholars and project staff have been instructed to continue their academic and research work through online mode wherever feasible under the supervision of their respective Heads of Departments, Principal Investigators or controlling officers.
The circular further stated that Heads and Coordinators of academic departments may conduct online or remedial classes, mentoring sessions, project reviews, dissertation guidance and other academic engagements during the break to ensure timely completion of academic requirements.
It said examinations and evaluation processes for Elective Bucket Courses will be held on alternate days during afternoon sessions after the resumption of regular classwork and university operations.
A detailed schedule will be issued separately by the Examination and Evaluation Wing (EEW).
The university also directed Administrative Deans, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments and faculty members holding administrative portfolios to remain on duty and discharge their responsibilities as usual.
Officials seeking to avail themselves of vacation or summer break will require prior approval from the competent authority.
The circular added that all administrative offices, sections and non-teaching staff will continue to function normally during the summer break unless alternative orders are issued by the competent authority.
