JAMMU, Apr 29: The Department of National Security Studies, Central University of Jammu organized a daylong educational field visit to the forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector, Jammu.
Facilitated by 16 Corps of the Indian Army, the educational field visit was organized to explore the importance of our diverse borders and their crucial role in enhancing national security.
India shares a multifaceted border landscape with its neighboring nations and the trip was aimed to enrich students and scholars understanding the nuances of LoC and inspire them to contribute towards Nation Building.
This experience was an integral part of the curriculum, aiming to provide valuable insights into the subject. During their visit, students, scholars and faculty members of the Department had the opportunity to learn about the significance of LoC. Further, the dynamics of LoC were explained through interaction with the Army officers, while also latest weapons and equipment were displayed followed by fire power demonstrations.
The trip was organized by the department under the support and mentorship of Prof Ritu Bakshi, Head, Department of National Security Studies. Dr R Sudhakar, Associate Professor of the Department of National Security Studies was the coordinator of the trip. The organizing committee included Dr Neeta Rani, Dr Ekta Manhas, and Dr Anuradha Choudhary. The students, scholars, faculty and staff of the Department participated in the educational field visit.
