JAMMU, May 12: Department of English, Central University of Jammu has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with English Department of Kiel University, Germany to promote exchange of academic activities.
These include exchange of researchers, students and faculty; cooperation in research projects; organization of lectures, symposia, conferences, and workshops; development of mutually beneficial academic programmes and courses; exchange of information, teaching materials, and scientific publications.
The Memorandum of Understanding is intended to promote international cooperation between the Department of English, represented by Professor Jutta Zimmermann of Kiel University, represented by its President Prof Dr Simone Fulda and the Head, Department of English, represented by Dr Vandana Sharma of Central University of Jammu, represented by its Vice Chancellor, Prof Sanjeev Jain.
The English Department of Kiel University and the English Department of the Central University of Jammu have been working in a fruitful cooperation for the last years. Specific links have been established in the fields of (online) teaching and research. Both institutions wish to continue and deepen the existing collaboration in regard to academic exchange and cooperation in study, teaching and research. This Memorandum will be in force for an initial period of five years as of the date of signing by the representatives of both universities. Thereafter, the agreement will automatically be renewed annually as long as neither party terminates it 9 months prior to the beginning of an academic year.
