RAMNAGAR, Oct 18: A leopard cub was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Udhampur- Ramnagar road about 4 kms from here during early hours today.
Reports said that villagers noticed the cub lying dead on the road in the morning and they informed Forest and Wild Life staff at Ramnagar. The police party also reached there. DFO Ramnagar Mr Vivek along with Veterinary doctor and Ist Class Magistrate reached at the site and the animal was disposed off after conducting on the spot postmortem.
It is believed that cub was hit by an unknown vehicle when it was crossing the road. It was around 10-12 kg in weight. Wild Life department has taken cognizance of the matter.
