CSKU projects demands, warns of agitation

JAMMU, Feb 2: Civic Safai Karamchari Union (CSKU) today projected their demands and warned the authorities of agitation if their demands are not fulfilled.
Addressing a press conference here at Town Hall, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Rinku Gill, president, Civic Safai Karamchari Union, said that a large number of posts of Safai Karamcharis are lying vacant and the serving Safai Karamcharis are over burdened due to these vacant posts. He demanded the Government to advertise immediately the 600 new posts of Safai Karamcharis, which were approved about two months ago.
He also stressed for clearing the cases of SRO 43, the file of which, he said, is lying with the administration while the employees are suffering badly. He also emphasized to regularize the services of 33 contractual drivers, who have been continuously working with the department for last more than 11 years.
Gill said that due to ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission, the work load on existing strength of Safai Karamcharis have been further increased and they are doing their service to the State honestly and without any complaint but administration is ignoring their services and till date did not provide any kind of benefit to them.
He said if their genuine demands were not fulfilled they will launch an agitation in the coming days for which the administration will be responsible.
