SRINAGAR, July 3: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas today reviewed the progress of land acquisition proceedings for construction of 4 lane ring road/by pass around Srinagar and Jammu cities.
Commissioner Secretary, PW (R&B) Department, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal and concerned officers attended the meeting. Divisional Commissi-oner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Samba and Jammu participated via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary received brief from both the Divisional Commissioners in regard to the district wise status of the land acquisition proceedings. Substantial progress was reported in all the districts and in most of the cases land acquisition proceedings were reported as being in the final stage.
Chief Secretary urged the concerned Deputy Commissio-ners to complete the land acquisition proceedings in the remaining cases quickly, so that land is handed over for start of the work on the ring road project in both the cities.
Commissioner/ Secretary PW (R&B) and both the Divisional Commissioners were asked to review the progress of the decisions taken with the concerned Deputy Commissioners and the NHAI authorities in the coming days to resolve any issue impeding smooth progress in the completion of land acquisition proceedings.
