CS holds video conference with Union Cabinet Secy, discusses various issues

SRINAGAR, June 5: Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khanday and his team of Administrative Secretaries today held detailed discussions to settle remaining developmental issues pending at various levels with the Union Cabinet Secretary and his team through a video conference which took place for about three hours.
Today’s meeting is part of continuous effort to resolve all pending issues between the State and Central Government and is scheduled to continue for tomorrow as well. Substantial progress has already been achieved with most of the developmental issues resolved since the last visit of the Cabinet Secretary to the State.
Giving overview of the issues pending in various Union Ministries for quite some time now, Chief Secretary highlighted the need for their early clearance by the Union Government and release of funds to carry forward various flagship programmes and centrally assisted projects in the State.
The issues taken up during today’s meeting covered Power Sector, Water Resources, Wetland Management, Road Sector, Tourism Sector, Civil Aviation, Science and Technology, Agriculture sector and issues pertaining to release of funds for completing remaining schemes under PMRP in the State.
