NEW DELHI, Mar 25: Crude oil futures fell by 0.38 per cent to Rs 6,061 per barrel today after speculators reduced exposures amid a subdued trend in Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 23, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 6,061 per barrel in 2,271 lots.
Oil for May delivery moved down by Rs 21, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 6,050 per barrel in a turnover of 73 lots.
The trading sentiment turned weak at futures trade as crude prices fell in Asian trade after a key petroleum shipping channel in the US was closed following a collision that resulted in an oil spill amid investors waiting for the release weekly crude oil stockpiles, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude oil for May delivery eased by 24 cents to USD 99.36 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange. (AGENCIES)
