JAMMU, Aug 2: CRPF’s 160 Bn at Chatha, near here, celebrated its 14th anniversary.
Commandant Surender Mehra took the Guard of Honour on this occasion and threw light on the achievements of the Battalion. He encouraged the Battalion to follow the great tradition of CRPF.
The Commandant dedicated the anniversary of this unit to humanity and environment and a blood donation camp was organised in which 50 officers and jawans donated their blood. Apart from this 1000 saplings were also planted at the camp.
In the evening newly constructed Subordinate Officers Mess of 160 Bn was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, V.S.K Kumudi, Special DG, J&K Zone.
After this a cultural programme was organised by the jawans of 160 Bn CRPF.
A.V Chauhan, IGP Jammu Sector, senior officers, Ramesh Kumar, DC Jammu, Secretary Red Cross Society Jammu, Dinesh Gupta, Kulbir Singh, SSP PCR, Satpaul, Divisional Forest Officer Jammu, and many others were also present.
On this occasion Poli Devi wife of martyr Head Constable, Subash Chandra was honoured by the Chief Guest, V.S.K Kumudi along with DC Jammu and Secretary Red Cross Society.
The Chief Guest also distributed trophy and memento to the personnel of the Battalion.
