JAMMU, Apr 7: As a part of the joint efforts of CRPF and FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India) to impress upon and deal with health related issues of people especially health of women and their related diseases, a 2-day awareness programme on ‘Sexual and reproductive health’ got underway at Group Centre, CRPF Bantalab, here today.
Under the aegis of Welfare Association of CRPF viz. CWA (CRPF Family Welfare Association), this program was initially organized at Delhi and now it is organized by Regional CWA J&K Zone, CRPF, Jammu at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab and Composite Hospital CRPF Bantalab.
Earlier, chief guest, Smita Sindhu, Head CWA J&K Zone CRPF, Dr Sudha Sharma, President JOGSI, Anita Barnwal Zonal Vice Head CWA CRPF J&K Zone, Sunita Singh and Monika Singh lit the ceremonial lamp and marked the opening of the program.
Shalini Singh, Head Group Centre CWA CRPF Bantalab presented welcome address.
Mrs Sindhu apprised all the participants about the message of Dr Manu Bhatnagar, President CWA CRPF and also about objective of the program.
Specialist doctors from various Jammu based hospitals, particularly from GMCH, shared their knowledge with women about sexual and reproductive health. The prominent doctors included Dr Surinder Kumar, HOD (OBS-Gynae) SMGS GMCH Jammu, Dr Anil Mehta, Dr Meeta Gupta, Dr Sandeep Kaur and Dr Sonika Gupta.
Free medical check up of ladies and students was also done at Composite Hospital CRPF Bantalab.
Dr VK Singh IG (Medical) Composite Hospital CRPF Bantalab played pivotal role in success of the program.
The program was organized under the supervision of SP Singh, DIG CRPF Group Centre Bantalab, while Dinesh Kumar, Dy Comdt alongwith other officers also assisted Mr Singh.
